Re-elect 41st District Representative Marcie Maxwell in 2010! Dear friends, neighbors, and colleagues, As a freshman legislator in 2009 and 2010, I’ve been honored to serve the people, organizations, and businesses of my legislative district communities of Bellevue, Beaux Arts, Issaquah, Mercer Island, Newcastle, and Renton. I went to work right away on important issues, building relationships, leading efforts for efficient and effective policies for our region’s future, and passing a balanced budget for Washington State. And, during my first legislative term, our state and our nation have experienced the most difficult economic conditions in decades.
I’m pleased with my committee assignments as Vice Chairman of the Education Committee; member of the Education Appropriations Committee for K-12, Early Learning & Higher Education; Vice Chairman of the Community Development, Economic Development & Trade Committee; and a member of the Capital Budget Committee. I've also been given a special appointment by the Governor and Speaker Chopp to serve on the Quality Education Council which is leading the implementation of important reform and funding legislation for our children and public schools.
My committees compliment the roles of my seatmate, Representative Judy Clibborn, who is the House Transportation Chair and on the Health Care Committee. Together, our work is well suited to the priorities of this great district where a growing number of people choose to live, work, learn, and play. Our quality of life here requires smart investments in our public schools, early learning, higher education, our ability to attract and keep innovative businesses and good jobs, improved transportation options, housing choices, preserving our environment, energy efficiency, safe and healthy choices for all - and our accountability to you in good or bad times.
Now that the legislative session in Olympia is over, I’ve been spending my time meeting many people and learning even more about what’s important to you and how I can be most helpful in the future. Like it or not, the House of Representative’s term is just two years…….so I need your help to continue working for our region and state. Your support for my re-election is appreciated! - Marcie

As a candidate for the open State Representative seat in the 41st Legislative District, I've appreciated many opportunities during this campaign to listen, learn, and be an effective representative for 41st District citizens, businesses, and organizations in Bellevue, Mercer Island, Beaux Arts, Newcastle, Issaquah, Renton, and unincorporated King County.
I am proud of my commitment to the quality of life in our Puget Sound community that has been my home for a lifetime. That quality of life can only be maintained and improved with efforts invested in public schools, early education, higher education, economic development, transportation, good jobs, and housing choices. A healthy, safe, and beautiful environment to live, work, learn, and play in is important to me and to you.
I've always strived to share opportunities with citizens of diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds, and to respect and care for people of all ages and abilities. These are personal values I will take to Olympia. You should also know that you have my commitment to accountability and ensuring that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.
I won the Primary Election on August 19th and I'm working hard to win when it counts on November 4th. And I ask for your help in these ways:
First, if you haven’t done so yet, please endorse my candidacy.
Second, contribute to my campaign. All contributions are very important as they reflect my support in the community. Your check for $25, $50, $100, or $500 is truly appreciated. * Please make your contribution online today! Third, we need your volunteer help with doorknocking, phoning, displaying a yard sign, or by sending a supportive email to people you know. Fourth, please ask your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to vote for Marcie Maxwell for 41st District State Representative.
Your extra efforts will send a clear message that Marcie Maxwell is the right leader for the 41st District and for Washington State…….. Experience, Service, Results!
